This blog is a tribute to Terence McKenna—a psychedelic prophet and one of the most zoomed out minds of the 20th century died exactly ten years ago today (November 16, 1946 – April 3, 2000).
Terence McKenna’s paradigm-shattering notions have played a major role in helping me form, structure and manifest my life’s trip down this Trip. His uniquely placid but piercing alien-voice continues to inspire and guide thousands of tripsters around the world to the keys needed to open the doors of Truth.

In fact, the first Shulgin and McKenna video featured below is partially responsible for the formation of the ZOOMDOUT brand and backronym (Zooming Out Our Minds Discovering Our Uncharted Territory). At one point during their dialogue they briefly talk about the same largely uncharted internal landscape that ZOOMDOUT is making an effort to charter (please see The Tripster’s Mission is to English).
I remember watching this video during my last semester in Syracuse and thinking to myself, “What are we waiting for? What am I waiting for? Let’s charter these uncharted territories!” Six months later, I started ZOOMDOUT with the specific purpose of collectively exploring and chartering the uncharted.
