BOOM FESTIVAL 2006: FULL MOVIE
I'm in Madrid right now anxiously awaiting my 9 AM train departure to the 2012 BOOM Festival in Idanha-A-Nova Lake, Portugal. Well, actually direct bus tickets from Madrid to BOOM have been sold out for about a month, and train tickets from Madrid to Castelo Branco, Portugal (the closest town to BOOM territory) have been sold out for almost two weeks. So I'm taking a train to a town called Caceres in Spain, about 80 KM from Boom Festival in hopes of finding a way to get over to Boom from there. The tribal-tatted train ticket agent assured me flocks of Boomers are doing the same thing, given the inconvenient options. So I'm staying up all night and heading over to the train station as soon as these Madridian Metros start up, again.
Anyway, what is BOOM? Their tagline is that it's ''a playground for a potential future''. Thousands of people from all over the world get together every other year to camp out and trance out for one week in the middle of nature under the August Full Moon. Lunatics, I know. But I love it. I'm really excited about the near limitless amount of workshops taking place this year at BOOM. WORKSHOPS
Workshops at the Healing Area allow us to explore and experience unique and powerful therapies in a safe environment with experienced professionals that contribute to the Boom from a space of love.
There will be daily practices, sound journeys, ceremonies, and a number of different types of bodywork supporting inner growth and transformation. Workshops at the Healing Area embrace a variety of traditions of healing. They demonstrate how we each have our unique way of reach-ing the same destination, of enriching our transformation.
They also represent the distinct approaches of various traditions; including daily groups of dif-ferent styles of centring practices – from Kundalini and Asthtanga, to Hatha yoga and from Aqua Tai Chi to QiGong.
Alchemical journeys are experienced with different types of meditation. We also recall the for-gotten language of the body with cellular consciousness: an ancient Tibetan technique.
In the Healing Area there is the possibility to experience a daily Temazcal, representing the uterus of Mother Earth, which takes us back to the womb as we open ourselves to the process of dying and being reborn.

The Temazcali (Zumpul-ché) is a sacred sweat lodge that represents the womb of mother earth. It is the temple of the origin of our existence. It is the womb that nurtures the recognizing of ourself in our personal process and that of the world.
The womb receives us again in the round, feminine, loving and timeless space, again in a fetal position, returning to the origin of our mother, connecting with the Great Mystery.
The stones are activated by the Sacred fire. They are the seeds of consciousness and wisdom. In them, the ancient spirits of the earth are in-voked as they enter the womb. They are bathed with a tea of medicinal herbs generating the vapor that will make us sweat. This is when the healing through purification starts.
The four elements are united: Earth, Fire, Water and Air. They are the medicine and the vice of the Great Spirit transmitted in the chanting, in the sacred words and in the silence.
The Temazcali is the house of everyone. It is the medicine that our ancestors have left us to reconnect. Rediscovering the vision of our own medicine, connecting us to our heart.

Tradicional Chinese Medicine (TCM) refers to a broad range of medicine practices that include herbs, massage, diet and exercise therapy (Qigong and Taiji). TCM was developed in China and is an ancient tradition dating back at least 2,000 years.
In general, disease is perceived as a disharmony in the functions or interactions of yin, yang, qi, xuĕ, zàng-fǔ, meridians etc. and/or of the interaction between the human body and the environment.
In TCM, the most used diagnostic methods are: Tongue Observation, Pulse reading, patient History and Palpation.
Acupuncture is the practice of inserting thin needles into specific body points in order to affect the flow of energy, to improve health and wellbeing.

And of course, Boom wouldn't be Boom without the multidimensional Dance Temple.
DANCE TEMPLE
THIS IS THE HEARTBEAT OF THE BOOM! THE DANCE TEMPLE IS A FUTURISTIC PORTAL TO TRIBALISM AND DANCE, UNITING US WITH THE UNIVERSAL SPIRIT OF PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE.To connect us with the transformative meaning of 2012, we are inviting the finest DJs, live acts and tribal bands to play longer sets for a deeper trance experience – abolishing in the process, the notion of quantity over quality so present in many of today’s parties and festivals.
DJ sets at Boom 2012 are typically continuing for 2H30 and 3H, and live acts up to 1H30.
The Dance Temple is a vivid being of trance and psychedelic culture. Musically, this culture has been present in almost all genres of music, from rock to jazz, from electronica to kraut rock, it has been proposing non-orthodox approach to composition, production and sound design. At Boom we have always been pursuing the “think outside the box” approach, psy-trance to keep evolving must be a culture of experimentalism and innovation, a perception to manifest enlightenment, connectedness and access the universal truth.
Boom Festival is not a dance floor experience only, it is a multi-sensory experience to channel in the cosmic truth.
As usual at Boom Festival, we put in the Dance Temple an understanding of dimensions experienced through the sounds of psy, dark, twilight, forest, tribal, prog, full-on, groovy full-on, Goa and nu-Goa.
We are also focusing on a better understanding of the flow of the days. Each day will have a theme based on the stages of alchemic transformation, a basis for a spiritual technology to make the golden moment of experiencing the Dance Temple permanent in a state of consciousness.
Each music day the Dance Temple starts with a motivation mantra by a healer. At the end of each day, late afternoon, a dedication mantra will resonate to send out to all sensient beings and to the Boomers the energy created at the Dance Temple.
Taking that into account we are inviting artists, architects, designers, decorators and a handful of creative visionaries to help us craft a temple that will remain in our hearts. The Dance Temple is a womb that awakens the human spirit through art. The vibrance of colors, holographic images and lasers within it reflect how we channel the universal meaning of trance.
There's so much happening at Boom 2012 it's legally ridiculous. Happenings within happenings. That sort of speak. There's so much to learn and I hope I can bring some newfound, sustainable knowledge back in order to share and put into practice. Because some real planetary and systematic change needs to happen, NOW. Have a supra-conscious Full Moon you lunatics.
